Custodial vs non-custodial

Whether someone else holds your crypto for you (custodial) or it lands straight in a wallet only you control (non-custodial).

When you take crypto, the key question is who holds the coins. "Custodial" means a company holds them for you and pays you out later, a bit like a bank. It is convenient, but you are trusting that company, and it can freeze, delay, or set rules on your money. "Non-custodial" means the coins go straight into a wallet only you control. No one can hold them, freeze them, or stand between you and your money.

Non-custodial gives you the most control and the most responsibility. If you lose the keys to your wallet, no one can recover them for you. Custodial trades some of that control for a safety net and a little convenience.

Coin Moebius supports both. You can take crypto through a hosted option, or go fully non-custodial so payments settle straight to your own wallet with no company in the middle. Either way, we never hold your money.
